Restroom Etiquette and other matters
Life at home
Okay, so I live with my father in Eloy, Az, and the experience has been decent for the both of us. We help each other is various ways. However, there are some things that I have noticed that never seem to pass, or end. Case in point: Relatives of mine recently stopped by and rested at my father's house. Being that it is my father's house, his way will always win the day, meaning, that old, cultural traditions remain in use among our family. One night while feeling the urge to utilize the restroom, I turned on the light and quickly noticed the trash can full of used toilet tissue. After relieving myself, I changed the restroom trash bag and hide the trash can. Hoping that this would force them to leave not only their human excretion in the toilet bowel, but the tissue refuse as well. Late that morning, I entered the restroom to relieve myself, and found the trash can with tissue refuse! Some habits are just hard to break. Mind you, my sister and I were taught to do the same thing. Thankfully, Bro. Shane Meloy, helped us see the 'error' and we made our adjustments in restroom etiquette years ago.
Big brother talk
This weekend provided an opportunity for me to talk with my younger, step siblings while spending the weekend at my father's house. This is not new, of course; he usually has his children every weekend. I, however, took advantage of this time and asked them to join me for a long, quiet walk around the Eloy Junior High School track. With no one present, I felt free to talk about a few things that needed to be discussed with them: First, I mentioned that I recently lamented the sad fact that I have so many debts. And, that these debts were the primary reason why I am not married as of yet. It should be noted that a wife and house usually go hand-in-hand. So, I am currently without a wife and house. Second, I stressed to them the need to stay-in-school and graduate with a PhD and go where God would have them to be. Third, I asked them to no longer encourage our father to over spend for each of them. My father is in several financial holes (like me), he doesn't need to make new holes. Finally, I mentioned that they are in a safe place with my brother-in-law (Jeremiah Eaton) and his family. I stated that I admire Mr. Eaton's tenacity of acquiring a higher educational degree and landing a job that fits his personality (not perfectly, nor in that order). After completing five laps, we closed my talk with a testimony service. I lead preliminaries, and they each gave a testimony or public confession on the goodness of God.
Closing thoughts
Another semester begins for those of you attending post high school education, namely, Central Arizona College. I have enrolled and am hopeful in accomplishing an AA in Law Enforcement. Yes, I will still be studying French, but not sure with whom. I have being contemplating wither to enroll at Letutor Language School in Tempe, Az. Or, perhaps, I should go with a private instructor in Phoenix, Az. Not sure what I will do. Also, I am attempting to complete the following works: 'No More Headaches' by Julie Slattery, 'I Am:A Oneness Pentecostal Theology' by David Norris, 'Creating An Intimate Marriage' by Jim Burns, 'The Marriage Code' by Bill & Pam Farrel, and 'Hero:Becoming the Man She Desires' by Fred & Jason Stoeker. In February, Focus On The Family will be having their Focus On Marriage Simulcast Conference on Saturday the 27th. I have enrolled and am hopeful that I will get the time off to attend that marriage conference at Mountain Ridge Southern Baptist Church in Glendale, Az. Well, that is all for now. Until next time. Recall, recite and pray the all powerful word of God in Jeremiah 29:11-13.
